A review of scientific literature on mindfulness meditation published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) found that the effects of meditation are limited.

Mediation can be a helpful adjunct treatment for pain and anxiety, but not as the single treatment.

Here & Now’s Meghna Chakrabarti speaks with NPR’s Allison Aubrey about results of the review.
