Committee May Vote To Hold Attorney General Holder In Contempt Of Congress

Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform committee accused the Attorney General of failing to turn over documents from the Justice Department’s so-called “Fast and Furious” investigation into guns lost through a program to track gun smugglers.

The Justice Department claimed it has turned over thousands of documents, and earlier today the White House told the committee the President would assert executive privilege for the first time in a congressional dispute, to block the documents.

Indiana Republican Dan Burton accused attorney general holder of stonewalling, and said the committee needed ton know “who knew about this, how high up did it go, did it go to the Attorney General or even the President of the United States, and when did they know it,” especially since a border patrol agent murdered with those weapons. But New York Democrat Carolyn Maloney said she was astounded by the move to vote Holder in contempt of Congress; she called it character assassination.

Guns from the USA have been sold to drug cartels? I’m shocked — shocked I tell you!

If the Republicans want to stop guns from the USA from falling into the hands of drug cartels, are they going to ban all gun sales through phony buyers and at gun shows? Do we need full gun control, and a ban on sales of all automatic and semi-automatic weapons, and all large magazines, etc.?
