Candidates Debate As Iowa Draws Near

In the Republican presidential candidates debate last night, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz dominated, with Trump questioning Cruz’s eligibility and Cruz questioning Trump’s “New York values.”

In the Democratic Party debate on Sunday night, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are expected to clash on issues including gun control and paid family leave, now that Sanders is in a tight race with Clinton not just in New Hampshire, but also in Iowa.

Here & Now political analysts Paris Dennard and Angela Rye discuss last night’s GOP debate and the upcoming Democratic debate with hosts Robin Young and Jeremy Hobson. Dennard is an unaligned Republican Party strategist, and Rye is an unaligned Democratic Party strategist.
