Listener Letters: Doctors’ Fees And Twinkies

We heard your from you on our story about doctors who prescribe expensive therapies, either because they’re being reimbursed at a higher rate or because they own the equipment.

We also correct an error in our story last week on the possible demise of the Twinkie.

We welcome comments from all of our listeners. Post below. Please stay on topic and be civil. Comments may be moderated by us, but you are solely responsible for the content of your comments.

Oh, no! You got the “Twinkie defense” wrong again! You read, on the air, “They[the jury]  bought the lawyer’s argument that poor Dan was stressed out, in part, from excess Twinkies.” Not so — Twinkies were never mentioned in the trial, and Dan White’s consumption of junk food was cited as a symptom of his (supposed) depression, not a cause. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinkie_defense for details.
