The Occupy Wall Street movement of a year ago is back – as Occupy Sandy.
Activists have set up two main coordination centers at Brooklyn churches where donations are dropped off and volunteers are sent out to help residents repair damaged homes and businesses.
They’re also coordinating donations using an online gift registry commonly used for weddings.
One of the founders said she and two other friends created it Saturday night after volunteering and realizing that Occupy Sandy “knew what they needed” and could get it out to storm-ravaged communities, but needed a way to help donors give.
