Republican presidential candidate former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum speaks during a primary night watch party Tuesday, in St. Charles, Mo. (AP)
Technically he didn’t win any delegates, but former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum scored a symbolic victory in Tuesday’s caucuses in Minnesota and Colorado and the Missouri Primary, winning all three.
Mitt Romney congratulated Santorum but said he still expects to be the Republican nominee. Ron Paul finished second in Minnesota, and Newt Gingrich finished at or near last in all three states.
Alexander Burns, national political reporter for Politico, writes that “Rick Santorum dealt an embarrassing setback to Mitt Romney’s campaign Tuesday night, raising new questions about conservatives’ willingness to accept Romney as their nominee.”
