Karl Marlantes wrote what some have called the best novel to come out of the Vietnam War. Now he’s published a book of non-fiction, a reflection on being in battle, and how we might better prepare our soldiers for war and their return home. It’s called simply, “What It Is Like To Go To War.” He certainly knows. He saw plenty of combat in the jungles of Vietnam.
